WSO2 publishes a support matrix listing every product release with its end-of-life dates [1]. Its policy is to support any product version for a minimum of three years from release, and any release line introduced from March 2024 for a minimum of seven years from its first version [1]. For API Manager, several of those dates are either recent or close.

What the dates mean

  • 3.2.0 and 3.2.1 have passed their listed support EOL date of 7 September 2026, and the matrix now shows them as Extended [1]. API Manager Analytics 3.2.0 carries the same dates [1]. Anyone still on 3.2.x should confirm with WSO2 exactly what that status covers under their subscription, rather than assuming either full support or none.
  • 4.2.0 is deprecated, with its support EOL set for 22 March 2027 — announced a year ahead, on 22 March 2026 [1].
  • 4.3.0 through 4.7.0 have earliest possible EOL dates running from April 2027 to April 2029 [1], which makes the newer 4.x releases the realistic targets for anyone upgrading now.

Planning against these dates

API Manager upgrades rarely fail on the gateway itself. They fail on what has accumulated around it: custom mediation, extensions, analytics, and client applications that depend on behaviour nobody documented. As with any platform on a support clock, the upgrade should finish before the date, which means starting it well before.
